  5. Erstwhile
    broad roads,
    traffic
    suddenly self-expanding
    from 3 lanes to 6,
    as
    fellows on bikes
    navigate dangerously
    through traffic gaps,
    a bus
    stopping
    way outside the stop,
    impatient folks
    stepping out
    to see if it has arrived;
    we are such experts
    at converting
    everything to narrowband.

    An unnaturally wide
    sidewalk,
    with a sparse crowd
    at the bus stop
    (by Mumbai standards),
    and
    its only up there
    in the sky,
    away
    from the perenial skywalks
    now fashionable
    in
    proletarian Mumbai
    that the telephone company
    can claim,
    in all this confusion,
    to offer you,
    "truly unlimited broad band"

  6. A vibrant bus stop but unfortunately the crowd has to await the arrival of the four legged transporter. Nice capture!!!

A writer's mind. of a six year old. Have a wonderful holiday!

  9. I once watched a video about how electricity and roads have not reached where cellphone connections have reached. I think broadband connections are going to follow. Maybe if roads and electricity were completely privatised, we'd have ads offering better transport services and more reliable supply of power?

  10. Privatising roads and electricity completely could get complicated because it involves acquisition of land and natural resources. Moreover the privatisation of airlines has shown how the 'low cost airlines' cut corners endangering the safety of passengers. The Government should act responsible to social welfare commitment and do what they have been elected for. Not a big ask. Or is it?

  19. Loved the picture. The ad. board behind saying: Truly Unlimited Broadband - is so reflective of a typical Mumbai road rush.
